7. Africans who have shaped our Faith

Do you have relatives or friends that have left the church or refused to attend church, saying the Christianity is a “white man’s religion,” that the Bible itself was written by, for, and about white people? Is this thinking correct and were the Jews of the Bible African Jews or European Jews? What do we mean by African Jew? Is there any evidence that Jesus took on the body of an “African” Jew? If the people of the Bible were Africans, how did they come to be depicted as European Jews? Will the depicting of Bible personalities as African “remove their halo,” and somehow cause emotional difficulties for black people who are secure with the white images of Jesus they have come to love?

In this book, Africans Who Shaped Our Faith, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr. provides a provocative, soul stirring treatment of the issues. The book contains 12 moving sermons prefaced by historical overviews of the context in which biblical Africans lived, along with a related Bible study and historical overview authored by Dr. Colleen Birchett.

This book will give you a Win-Win strategy that will supercharge your income and put an end to the fear of outliving your money.

TEXTBOOK: Financial Literacy: Saving Middle America, The Nonprofit Millionaire

In his first book, Nonprofit Doesn’t Mean No Profit, Hopkins debunks the myth that nonprofit organizations are not supposed to make a profit. In the Nonprofit Millionaire, he gets personal! He takes on the common misconception that nonprofit and other social sector professionals, like teachers, first responders, nurses, social workers, etc., are predestined to struggle financially in their personal lives. Even though, as a group, we are among the lowest paid, highest taxed and most in debt segment of the American workforce, this book provides a step by step blueprint for how to move from a scarcity mentality to one of abundance.

Hopkins helps you understand how you inadvertently became trapped in the “Cycle of Pain.” You will know this applies to you when: 1) you have no money, 2) you are in debt, and 3) you have no savings or investments.b More importantly, however, he coaches you through an effective, easy to learn, three-step process designed to extricate you form the Cycle of Pain forever. You will come to realize that your financial problems don’t stem from not making enough money; but rather form not having full access to your own money. Right now, you money is making someone rich…unfortunately, that someone is not you. It doesn’t have to be that way. After reading this book, you will see that the secret to being a “nonprofit millionaire” is not in other’s millionaire; but in the money you already make.
