Chaplaincy Program

Chaplains are essentially spiritual leaders attached to a secular institution/organization. Our Chaplains are certified and have a theological education. Chaplains can also be ordained or commissioned by a particular denomination. Traditionally, Chaplains have been associated with representatives of Christian faith; today, the term is used as a representative of any faith.

Chaplains work in many fields and can be attached to any profession. From hospitals, military, law enforcement groups, political bodies such as The United States Congress and Senate, to educational institutions, sports teams, and even some corporate and music groups.

Chaplains generally are expected to serve in the spiritual needs of others. Not all Chaplains serve in the same areas. Some Chaplains deliver spiritual messages, perform wedding or funeral ceremonies, administer sacraments and provide regular counseling. They may also function as an advocate; as in hospital chaplains who may make a request of a nurse to help meet a particular patient’s need.

Our on-line GODSU CHAPLAINCY PROGRAM

These are the steps for the on-line GODSU Chaplaincy program:

1. GETTING STARTED.

All chaplain candidates will pay $800 for the self-study Chaplaincy course and exam which includes a $50 enrollment fee. Copy of deposit or wire must be emailed to chaplains@globalodsuniv.org or

3. CHAPLAIN EXAMINATION.

Once deposits are verified the course and exam will be released to the candidate by email.

4. CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION OF CHAPLAIN SELF STUDY COURSE.

Upon successful completion of coursework and examination the candidate will be awarded a certificate of completion of chaplain self study course. This will be mailed unless the candidate indicates their desire to participate in a GODSU formal graduation ceremony.

5. BADGES & PICTURE IDENTIFICATION CARDS.

All chaplain candidates may request badges and I.D. once they clear a fingerprinting background check through GODSU. The cost of these items is not included in the course fee. Badges and I.D. cards may ordered complimentary from the Bookstore after providing the proper background clearance.

6. DIPLOMA.

All Chaplains are eligible for graduation and a diploma once prerequisites
have been completed and they participate in a graduation ceremony.

7. GRADUATION.

Chaplains who choose to participate in the graduation process will be notified about graduation gowns, tassels, hats, collars and processing requirements.

8. RE-CERTIFICATION.

Continuing education classes will be held each year with the completion of 12 CEU hours from a certified program. GODSU will also provide CEU hours for chaplains. The renewal cost for re-certification is $100.00 every two years.
