Dean H.E. Rev. Dr. Joseph Hickman, Chaplain

Dean Rev. Dr. Joseph Hickman is an ordained minister. He is also Owner, with his wife of Healthy Foods One for over 20 years. Healthy Foods One is a premier business for all-natural and organic meats and seafood. Their clients include Whoopi Goldberg, Kool and the Gang, and ABC correspondent Byron Pitts.

For over 17 years Hickman has led J H Global Consultancy, a management and development Company advising and providing technical support to NGOs, corporations, organizations, and individuals on solutions to complex problems, such as Fund Development, Fundraising, Water Projects, and Cyber-Security.

Born into a loving family who demanded education and excellence,  Hickman observed that what you focus on “Does Multiply.” Growing up in the Village of Harlem in New York City, he saw firsthand the creativity, energy, and imagination of our people. Many are his role models, even today.

– Rev. Hickman raised over $2 Million in funding on Wall Street for Famine Relief, Water Development, and Literacy.

-Managed World Vision alongside Senator Mark Hatfield (Oregon); Ted W. Engstrom, President, World Vision; and Rev. Dr. Richard Halverson, Chaplain, U.S. Senate and Chairman. World Vision is a global conference on management, and best practices for NGOS, Corporations, and Churches.

-Managed a major Capital Campaign for Historically Black Colleges and Universities with Congressman William H. Gray, President of The College Fund/UNCF. 

– Raised over $281 Million.

-Worked with the CEOs of Raytheon and Gillette Corporations to fund large scale Development Projects in various parts of the World.

After a five year hiatus, Morris transferred to the University of the District of Columbia. At UDC, he excelled, making the Dean’s List, getting inducted into Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, earning Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges & Universities, leading Student Government, and pledging Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Morris’ experiences exemplified the very tenets in which the men of Omega subscribe: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.  While graduating, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education was a highlight in this season of Morris Redd’s life, marrying Ms. Doneta Dugger, was the absolute pinnacle.
