What does Global Oved Dei mean?
The vision of Global Oved Dei Seminary and University is embedded into the name of the school:
Global, Globus, Latin for “Sphere”
Oved, Oved, Hebrew for “Worker”
Dei, Dei (nominative plural of deus; genitive singular of deus), Latin for “God”
Roughly translated, Global Oved Dei means “Global Worker of God.”
Global Oved Dei not only has an international meaning, but also an implicit interfaith meaning as well. A Global Worker of God can ascribe to any of the Abrahamic faiths (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam), as well as Hinduism, Sikhism, and even Buddhism. A Global Worker of God is simply an individual who is working within their respective faith to better their local and global communities. These workers can be in a variety of career sectors, such as science, technology, business, health, and more. The common chord that these Workers, share; however, is their compassion and commitment to serve others while they serve their respective God.
Global Oved Dei Seminary and University is an interfaith institution that promotes networking and building business relations across religious and country borders.
